The Atlas of Invisible Borders is an initiative of the European Alliance of Academies, a transnational network of art academies and cultural institutions that promotes artistic freedom of expression as a fundamental pillar of social cohesion in Europe. 

In collaboration with the Círculo de Bellas Artes – Casa Europa and other members of the Alliance, the project takes shape as a constantly evolving digital space that explores borders which are not visible, yet deeply felt: those that traverse languages, bodies, territories, and memories. 

Through audiovisual works and diverse artistic practices —with more than 35 videos to date and growing—, the Atlas traces a living map of these invisible divisions, understood not only as boundaries, but also as sites of encounter, friction, and possibility. 

More than an archive, it is an invitation: to look again, to cross what seems fixed, and to take part in an open dialogue about the visible and invisible forms that shape our present.
